About Us
Madfish Rods was initially conceived in my head as a young man. When I was 13 years old, my family moved to Destin, Florida. While living on the Gulf of Mexico my love for deep sea fishing was born. I would spend endless Summer months working as a deck hand on private charter boats. After seeing all of the "Store bought" rods being carried on by tourists and fishermen alike, I decided that a better deep sea fishing rod needed to be developed. That is the day that MADFISH RODS was born.
After moving to Tennessee at the age of 18, my love for saltwater fishing was transferred to freshwater fishing on the banks of the Tennessee River. With a baitcaster in hand, I realized that I could transfer my knowledge of rod building to the freshwater scene. A stronger and lighter rod would help freshwater anglers in their quest for the monsters from the deep. I have now turned my passion for fishing and rod building into a thriving business.
